23.01.20 - Erhværv @ Koncertkirken, Copenhagen
Erhværv is playing a concert as a part of the project Tango ekseks-i. The program spans from solo bandoneon music from the golden age of tango to Erhværvs own repertoire of contemporary tango music, presenting some completely new music written for Tango ekseks-i 2020-
Tango ekseks-i has for the last three years presented concerts with contemporary tango. Concerts with groups and ensembles from Scandinavia, each of them having a distinct interpretation of a music that springs from Buenos Aires, but drawing as much from contemporary western-european music.
Erhværv has existed since 2016 and is Anders Skibsted as the composer and bandoneonist, Søren Gemmer, piano, Frederik Sakham, double bass, Anna Jalving, violin and Nicole Hogstrand, cello.
The music draws on tango music, especially as it sounded after Astor Piazzolla revolutionised it in the late 1950′es, but as well putting it in a context of contemporary music. Trying to emancipate it from the usual associations of tango as a fainted postcard of Buenos Aires of former times, they work without compromise trying to find a new music.
Tango ekseks-i is for the second time curated, supported and developped in collaboration with Aarhus Unge Tonekunstnere.
With financial support from Danish Art Council and Aarhus Kommune.
